OUR FOCUS

MBFFL's focus is on having a fun playing experience allowing for players to play multiple positions. Healthy competition is promoted, rather than the high-pressure, “win-at-all-costs” mentality prevalent in some youth sports leagues today. Being a community based recreational league, children of all sizes, athletic abilities, and experience are encouraged to participate in the action. Because flag football is non-contact, you don’t have to be the biggest, fastest or most skilled kid to play a big role on a flag football team. We know kids want to play on teams with their friends, so we do our best to accommodate “buddy requests”, as well as teaming up kids from the same school to help foster and develop new friendships.

Our Standard

OPEN REGISTRATION
Our programs are open to male and females ages 5 through 14 who want to play flag football in a fun focused, organized league environment. Interest and enthusiasm are the only requirements for playing. The season is from April 22nd - June 10th. Championship Weekend will be on June 10th. The winning coaching staff of each division will serve as the coaching staff for the Regional Tournament and the National Tournament held at the NFL Pro Bowl if the team qualifies. The Regional and National Teams for each division are voted on by the coaches in their respective divisions. This is an opportunity you don't want to miss!!!

POSITIVE COACHING
This builds a positive team spirit. We train coaches to make the extra effort to understand and offer positive help and encouragement to players of all abilities.
GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP
We create a positive environment based on mutual respect, rather than a win-at-all-cost attitude. All of our programs are designed to instill the values of good sportsmanship and teamwork.
PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
All players, regardless of ability, should be able to develop their athletic skills to the best of their abilities, both individually and as members of a team. . Players also learn skills and football values like responsibility and accountability that help them succeed on and off the field.

In addition to having great fun playing, kids are taught the fundamentals of the game, improve their athletic skills, stay active, and learn important life lessons and skills such as good sportsmanship and teamwork to help them succeed both on and off the field. Taking part in organized sports can help kids do better in school, have better interpersonal skills, be more team-oriented, healthier, and more confident and make smarter life choices.

Myrtle Beach Flag's Mission

Myrtle Beach Flag Football League is organized and ran by North Myrtle Beach High School Alumni, Kendrick Furness. After graduation he accepted an athletic scholarship to play college football in Kentucky. When he got there he realized that he was not exposed to the same opportunities that his college teammates were growing up. Nobody in the area had introduced and sustained an outlet that brought exposure to our youth to give them an opportunity to expand their game. He has years of experience and has accumulated several milestones throughout his playing and coaching career from volunteering with the youth, playing professional football, and his stint coaching collegiate football fall of 2022. Our league's mission is to educate, uplift, and mentor student-athletes in our area to be the best that they can be. We will assist them on and off the field. It truly takes a village to raise a child and we will be that safe haven for the community. We will establish a family environment that will make our children's success in athletics and in life our main priority.
